Failing to prepare is preparing to fail, we’ve all heard this a million times.
What are the ‘barriers’ to staying on track with dieting/healthy eating though. If you’re interested in reading a 10000 word research paper on this exact topic please check out my dissertation paper on my About me page, but I’ll summarise on of these barriers –
“I have a lack of time to cook meals, it’s too expensive to eat healthy, I get tempted to eat badly when I’m hungry and out and about or see other food options, or if my friends family or work colleagues are eating bad food I can’t stay motivated “ etc.
One way to overcome this issue is to prepare in advance.
Meal prepping at the start of the week means:
– you don’t have to spend time every day cooking
– it costs less as you can split the veg & meat/fish over a few days and just do one food shop
– less temptation to buy other food or go off track when you already have your meals ready to go
– easier to track calories and macros when you are weighing it all at once
– if cost isn’t an issue and you don’t like to cook – order your weekly meals from a meal prep company – it saves even more time and effort.
Plus the more you do it and get into a routine, the quicker and less stressful it becomes.
